Two paintings in Milton Keynes
We got an email out of the blue from a man in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. He wanted to know if a painting given to him by his father for Chistmas around 20 years ago was by AS Craig. One look at the painting was enough to confirm that it was. (The signature also gave it away!)
His father used to live in Camberwell, London so it’s possible that he bought it from the Woodstock Gallery during one of AS Craig’s exhibitions there in the 1970s. The Sweet Ray dates from 1973 and has a £500 sticker on the back.
A few years later the man’s son got in touch with a photo of Cockscomb, also from 1973. Apparently his grandfather was a bit of a collector!
